Jon has been answering career questions on since 2002, so there are lots of questions to look at there. In 2005, compiled an SAP Careers and Certification FAQ of the most frequently asked SAP career questions and Jon’s answers. In September of 2007, put together a new version of this FAQ with a new set of questions and answers.

Jon has also written many articles for and has been interviewed for others. Two that may be of interest are the special reports by Krissy Danielsson on breaking into SAP and keys to success in SAP that both featured Jon’s comments.

From the Fall of 2004 through the Spring of 2005, Jon wrote four in-depth articles for ERPGenie on SAP consulting trends. To this day, these remain Jon’s favorite articles on SAP career trends he has ever written.  

Each article has a different theme, touching on hot buttons like whether SAP certification is a rip-off, the pros and cons of outsourcing, how to break into SAP, and why you should chase skills and not rates.  

These articles provide a great theoretical foundation for developing your own SAP career strategy, and Jon hopes to add a new addition to the “SAP Scoop” collection soon. 

B2B Workforce, Ask the Career Expert

In May of 2007, Jon joined B2B Workforce as the site’s SAP Career Expert. He answers a batch of questions from readers each month. B2B Workforce is an SAP Premier Partner and a leading source of SAP project opportunities.  

SAPtips, Founding Editor

Jon was the Founding Editor of SAPtips (February 2003) and he served in that capacity until the Spring of 2007. SAPtips now has a deep searchable archive of implementation tips, all written by practicing SAP consultants.  

You do have to be a subscriber to read the full articles, but there are sample issues available and you can do a full search of the document library at no cost.  

Many of the editor’s notes introducing these articles through 2006 were written by Jon, and he also wrote the Editor's Letter for all of the SAPtips editions through 2006.
