So, we decided to address this with our SAP Services Blog, where you can read about what Jon Reed and the JonERP team do for clients in our typical frank language. SAP and Web 2.0 Client Services - Examples of Work Performed Print E-mail

jonerp.jpgThe term "Web 2.0" is full of hype, especially when we take a more skeptical look at whether or not these tools can actually help businesses grow in a challenging economy. At JonERP.com, we help SAP services firms make more money, improve their data, and increase their market reach. (See our SAP services overview for a broad view of what we do.) Properly applied to an SAP context, Web 2.0 services can make a difference with all three of these objectives. Of course, each firm must take a close look at which tools can truly have an impact for them rather than simply assuming that "one size fits all." Jon Reed can help you sort through the hype and succeed with a range of Web 2.0 SAP initiatives.

Examples of Jon's "SAP Web 2.0" Client Services:

- Increase LinkedIn marketing and recruitment presence and successfully use LinkedIn for product and service "crowdsourcing."

- Advise on effective use of Twitter to increase SAP community audience and provide a tool for product and market feedback and news sharing.

- Develop a newsletter infrastructure and functionality for the emailing of original content, often repackaged from the web site, to target either consultants, job seekers, or both.

- Optimize current web site for SEO (Search Engine Optimization) for better organic search results from Google (better organic search results means higher placement from Google, which is a money saver on marketing costs and a great way of leveraging the existing web investment). Ensure that key SAP words and phrases are effectively tied into the web site and content in ways that Google respects as "white hat" techniques (no "black hat" SEO tricks are used).

- Install Google Analytics on the entire web site in order to build a baseline of data for analyzing traffic patterns with the goal of boosting web traffic. Also activate a server-side stats package for the purposes of comparison analysis. Activate Google Webmaster Tools to ensure that the web site is being optimized properly in Google, and potentially submit a sitemap to Google and make sure the web site is submitted to the main search directories. Once all traffic monitoring is in place, traffic patterns are analyzed for the purpose of better leveraging web site traffic for business goals.

- Create an interactive environment on the web site that would put a face on the company and build trust and visibility in the SAP community. Users would be able to update their own blogs, or collective blogs, through an easy-to-use interface that would not require HTML coding. Moderation services/quality control/editing can be provided as needed. We can also set up RSS feeds that would allow visitors to subscribe to the blog content in their RSS readers.

- Create value-added services for "on project" consultants, such as a password-protected support forum where consultants can support each other and build an internal knowledge base on SAP-related project issues and topics.

- Build a blog infrastructure that is either integrated with or added onto the existing company web site.
